Bria Danielle Singleton is experiencing her breakthrough. In I Wanna Dance With Somebody, the 16-year-old actress portrays Bobbi Kristina Brown, Whitney Houston's daughter. In a Interview with Media, Bria discussed how she documented Whitney's life for the film and what she discovered about Bobbi Kristina.
Family values and the entire family in general were extremely important to her, according to Bria. She seemed to have a very close bond with her mother because they were constantly together. Bobbi was usually near her and in her immediate vicinity. I think it's challenging to do that, especially given Whitney's way of life. That's just such a crucial thing to appreciate and adore, in my opinion.
Naomi Ackie, who plays Whitney in the movie, and Bria collaborated frequently. The young actress said that when she was with Naomi, she "felt very relaxed." "I already felt nervous about taking on this position, but she just took away all of my worries. She was a wonderful support system, Bria said. She acknowledged that playing Bobbi Kristina caused her anxiety because "I felt like I was representing somebody." It's not like you have a regular role or an invented character. People knew this person, so I wanted to treat her fairly.
Whitney had one child—Bobbi Kristina—with her ex-husband Bobby Brown. Whitney sadly drowned herself while using drugs in 2012, when she was 48 years old. Bobbi was discovered in her bathtub unconscious just three years later. Bobbi, who was only 22 years old, went unexpectedly after nearly six months in a coma.
Bria saw videos and interviews with Whitney's daughter in order to prepare for her role as Bobbi Kristina. "I am aware that they had a separate programme. I thought Bobbi was being honest with herself. Because she is Whitney Houston, I was already quite familiar with her life, Bria told the reporters.
Bria stated that Whitney and all she did are "celebrated" in the movie. She acknowledged that the first time she saw Naomi as Whitney was an amazing experience. To be really honest, I can't even put it into words, Bria remarked. "She was like Whitney the moment I met her. She was already dressed in a costume for the music video for "How Will I Know." She was simply so encouraging and kind right away.
